Specialty Care
Ascension St. Vincent’s has doctors in many specialties to care for you and your family’s health concerns.
It’s important for you to talk with your doctor if you have been delaying care. Doctors and care teams at Ascension St. Vincent's can help you plan when and how to get the care you need. We offer virtual visits, also known as telehealth, so you can see a doctor from home. Ask your doctor if a virtual visit is an option for you.
Here are steps to take precautions to protect yourself and those around you from COVID-19.

Getting the ER care you need is still important
Broken bones, signs or symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, severe mental health concerns or other life-threatening symptoms from a chronic condition should not be ignored. Delaying necessary emergency care could make your condition worse. Our care teams are fully prepared to care for you, with strict precautions in place for your safety while in our care.
If you're experiencing a non-life-threatening illness or injury, you can walk in or schedule your appointment at our ER. Then, you can wait at home until it is time to come in.

We’re here with care that fits your schedule. We offer online care for:
Urgent care
With Ascension Online Care, we provide care online for minor illnesses such as fever, cold, flu, seasonal allergies, urinary tract infections, and eye infections. These visits are as secure and confidential as a face-to-face visit and protected by the same patient policy rules.
Mental health care
If you are struggling emotionally, Ascension Online Care offers virtual mental health services. You can video chat with an experienced psychiatrist, psychologist or counselor online, seven days a week. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or something else, we're here for you.
Why choose online care?
Thank you for trusting us with your care. We are grateful for the overwhelmingly positive community response to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Ascension St. Vincent's is still in phase 1a of Alabama's COVID-19 vaccination plan, which is currently prioritizing high-risk frontline healthcare workers, due to limited vaccine received to date. We do not have a timeline on when we will be receiving additional vaccinations for the community. If you live or work in Jefferson County, please call the Jefferson County vaccine hotline at 205-858-2221 (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.) to learn more about vaccine availability or fill out a form online at jeffcoema.org (click on green "Vaccine Self-Registration Form" button). If you live or work in other areas of the state, please call the state vaccine hotline at 1-855-566-5333 (seven days a week, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.) for guidance on where vaccinations are available.
