Blood and cancer care

A cancer or blood disorder diagnosis can be difficult. We provide supportive, compassionate care to your child and family. From your first appointment, you will have a nurse navigator – helping you schedule appointments and answering your questions, big and small.

At Studer Family Children’s Hospital, your child and family have a highly experienced multispecialty team dedicated to your child’s care. Our pediatric oncologists and hematologists have the expertise to diagnose and treat even the most complex cancers and blood disorders. Using advanced testing and imaging, we evaluate and diagnose your child’s condition.

If your child is diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder, they may have appointments with various specialists. Our doctors and nurses collaborate with other specialists to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to your child. If chemotherapy or surgery is part of your child’s care plan, they will receive care on-site at Studer Family Children’s Hospital. When bone marrow transplantation or radiation treatment is needed, your child’s doctor works closely with other specialists, including doctors at UF Health, to help your child receive the care they need.

Our licensed clinical social workers are also here to deliver care and support to your child as they go through cancer treatment. Palliative care focuses on improving your child’s quality of life, managing pain, and providing emotional support for your child and your family. Additionally, our child life specialists, social workers, case managers and finance specialists are dedicated to supporting patients and families in our care.
